The Hunter Becomes The Hunted
So-called, Jehovah's Witnesses visit our neighborhood. They say they believe the Bible, but they actually deny Jesus raised Himself from dead (Jn. 2:19-22) and they deny His physical resurrection (Lk. 24:37-40), and they deny the Deity of Christ (Jn. 1:1-3). So sad.

Be Vaaweee Carful
When they show up on my "doorstep," I ask them if they "believe the Bible," if they "really believe the Bible," if they "believe the miracles of the Bible," and if they "believe everything the Bible says."
They confidently stroll into the trap.
I then ask them if they will believe that Jesus said He would "raise Himself from the dead" if the Bible says it.
They argue that it does not say any such thing. I say, regardless of whether you think the Bible says it, will you accept that Jesus said He would raise Himself if I can show it to you in the Bible?

I then take them to John 2:19-22.
OF COURSE, they still do not accept the Bible.

I then point out that they have another problem in believing the Bible, because the JWs not only deny that Christ would raise Himself from the dead, they deny that Christ was physically raised from the dead. I take them to Luke 24:37-40 and point out that Jesus was physically raised from the dead, contrary to JW teaching which says that He was raised "spiritually."
BUT, JESUS SAID that He was not a "spirit" as they supposed, but it was actually Him, because a spirit does not have "flesh and bone, such as you see that I have." He told them to touch Him and see. Touch His hands, His side. Jesus not only raised Himself from the dead, He raised Himself physically from the dead. In 1 John, we are told that the disciples touched and handled Christ. Christ did not manifest a body, He raised His own body from the dead.
JWs cannot accept this because it conflicts with Watchtower teachings. JWs DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE. They have their "reasons" for not accepting what the Bible says, but they all fall short.
JWs will say that God raised Jesus from the dead, which is true, but we also say that Jesus raised Himself from the dead (as the passage clearly says), which is also true, because Jesus is God.

Jesus is not just "a god" as the JWs teach, but He is the true and living God of the Bible. The Bible teaches clearly that there is only one God, yet the JWs mis-translation of the Bible (called the New World Translation), says that Jesus is "a god." Christians only have one God, and this One God manifests Himself in three Persons. The JWs have at least 2 gods.
You Shall Know The Truth
There are verses in the Old Testament which identify the true and living God. There are corresponding verses in the New Testament that apply those Old Testament verses to Jesus, because Jesus is Jehovah, Jesus is God.
It is interesting, and sad, to watch as people try to squirm their way out of an argument. They would rather be dishonest and blind than accept something that contradicts their doctrinal stand.
