The
Greatest Event
If Christ is
not raised from the dead, our faith is vain and we are still in our
sins (1 Co. 15:17). The death and resurrection of Jesus is essential
to the transformation of our lives (Ro. 3:25; 1 Co. 15:3). Not only
is the RESURRECTION OF CHRIST the greatest event in the history of
the universe, it is the greatest event in my own life. However, if I
did not believe on Him, if no one believed on Him, His resurrection
would still be the greatest event in the history of the universe.
This is because of the magnificence of the Savior and the uniqueness
of the event. The incarnation, sacrificial death and physical
resurrection of the Son of God is a one time event, never to be
repeated (He. 9:12, 28).
The Salvation Event
The salvation event is
comprised of various facets, including the CRUCIFIXION, the
RESURRECTION, the MESSAGE and Faith. Neither Christ's death nor His
resurrection saves the unbelieving man. The preaching of salvation
does not save those who simply hear with their heads. Belief or
faith, unless grounded in truth, does not save anyone. When all of
these components come together, there is salvation.
