I have never been Politically Oriented. I was not always Socially Conscious.
In the 60's I was oriented toward Proclaiming the Gospel and Winning Souls. I loved America, hated communism, cared about justice, resented government intrusion.
I was not active or involved in the civil rights movement or the Vietnam War dispute. Neither movement had a clear “Right and Wrong” side. However, these issues bring up a concern.
WHAT TO DO
Our focus is Christ and His Salvation and the people for whom He came. Our Message addresses the vital issues of life and we are the messengers.
I AM MOTIVATED BY THESE THOUGHTS.
I never want to look back on my life and see myself as a man who ignored the sufferings of my neighbor or remained silent while injustice ran rampant.
I don't want to rest on Flowery Beds of Ease, while oppressors crush the underprivileged.
I don't like conflict, but I don't want to abandon my post when the battle comes my way.
I want to be like Jesus.
I want to be part of the answer, not the problem.
I don't want anyone wondering where I was when the flood and fire swept our world, nation, community.
A Gospel with no position is not the Gospel.
A Gospel with no direction is not the Gospel.
A Gospel with no guts is not the Gospel.
