10/28/09 TARGET FIXATION

TARGET FIXATION

When a fighter pilot fixes his eyes on his target, he might forget to guide the plane and this causes a crash. The same thing happens in other areas of life, such as looking at something other than the road, while driving a car.

It works just the opposite with Christians. We need to fix our eyes on our target. The Scripture says we should fix our eyes on Jesus (He. 12:2).

We should focus on Christ as we maneuver through the spiritual obstacles of our world.

Closing our minds to current events leaves us in a world of make believe, and is dangerous.

Focusing on world problems destroys our spiritual foundation.

Some people are so heavenly minded they are of no earthly good and others are so earthly minded they have no heavenly use.

We are citizens of two worlds, sent to rescue the perishing, but we should never focus on the problems.

Neither should we focus on the opportunities of this life, because that can also cause us to turn our eyes from Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2
(2)  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
