8/17/09 CHOOSE YOUR STAR CAREFULLY

WHICH STAR?
People say, "Hitch your wagon to a star." In a galaxy of  stars, people are choosing from rock stars, movie stars, sports stars, political stars, religious stars, business stars, but they are not finding the right star. All of these are shooting stars, blazing briefly on their own course, shining brightly for a moment and then quickly burning out.

There are two stars that demand men's attention.
* The Bright and Morning Star, Jesus (Re. 22:16) and,
* The fallen star, Lucifer (Satan).

Satan
In spite of his failed past and his future perdition, people still choose to submit to Satan and remain held in his power of darkness (Co. 1:13); they trust this pretended Angel of Light (2 Co. 11:14), and expect him to enlighten their paths. Though Lucifer (as an angel) started as a star, he chose his own course and moved away from the Father of Lights (Ja. 1:17).

Jesus
The only true Star, self existing light, is the Son of God. He is called, The Star of Jacob (Nu. 24:17), and The Sun of Righteousness (Ma. 4:2). His arrival as the King of Israel was announced by His star (Mt. 2:9-10). Jesus referred to Himself as, The Bright and Morning Star (Re. 22:16).

We all need to be connected with a star. Jesus is that Star.
