9/20/09 BYOB (BRING YOUR OWN BLESSING)

BYOB (Blessing, that is)

What are your strengths?
What are you doing with them?

Imagine a church where the Pastor-Teacher does not serve, lead, exhort, and teach his congregation.

Everyone should know and use his strengths, gifts, skills and talents daily and bring them to meeting.

The Church needs believers who are gamblers and addicts.
Gamblers, who will risk all for Jesus and each other (Ac 15:26; Ro 16:4; Ph 2:30).
Addicts, who are addicted to serving one another (1 Co 16:15).

Strengths include natural and supernatural abilities, all of which come from God.

Many Christians do not know their strengths and many more do not use their strengths.

Strengths are to be used in the daily life and in the gathering together.

Pastor/Teacher is the primary gift in the local church. The pastor should have a cluster of several strengths.

The shepherd and the sheep have their own unique part to play.

When the parishioners are using their strengths daily, they will probably bring the lost to meetings.

Strengths joined during meetings will produce the spectacular, miraculous presence of God in the gathered body of Christ.

ALL believers should risk it all for Jesus, and one another; all believers should be addicted to serving one another.
