WRONG MESSAGE
In 1965 Jackie Deshannon sang, "What The World Needs Now Is Love." The song goes on to say that there is not enough love. I understand the meaning, and it is a pretty song with a warm and challenging message, especially for the sixties. However, there is enough love, but there are not enough containers to transport it. Remember, God is love. God has chosen to convey His love through people who open their hearts and lives to Him.
RIGHT MESSAGE
There are various kinds of love, but the life changing love, the self sacrificing love that was seen in Christ enters our lives only as we encounter and surrender to Christ as our Lord. What the world needed then, what the world needs now, what the world will need tomorrow, are men and women, boys and girls who carry the love of God to people who are separated by sin.
NOTICE THESE TWO VERSES
John 3:16
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 3:16
(16) Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
