Community/Family Effort
I remember as a child that my
grandparents would have the pieces to a large puzzle scattered across
a table in the dining room. It was not unusual to see people put a
few pieces in place when they visited. It was a community effort,
mostly a family effort.
Everyone Has A Part
Life is a puzzle, but it is not
assembled by only one person. We all have a part in putting it
together. However, when someone fails to contribute, that part of the
puzzle never fits or makes sense. We must not allow circumstances or
other people's failure to deter us from doing our part. God tells us
where the pieces go and He helps us place those pieces where they
belong. God is the designer and the enabler and we have the privilege
to participate in His redemptive work.
It Is A Spiritual Endeavor
When Christians are truly vessels
and channels of saving grace in their community, that much of the
puzzle is assembled. The more of it that is put together, the more
life makes sense, but even then, it can only be perceived by those
who are willing to accept God's grace. The less the Biblical pattern
is lived-out and told-out, the more frustrating and confusing life
becomes and the less likely that others will accept salvation.
The Agenda Of The Possible
Sometimes, when my grandchildren
try to put a puzzle together, they think it is to overwhelming and
they don't know where to start. I have stepped in and assigned them
different parts to assemble. As they put together their small part
and then fit it together with the other parts that their sibling has
assembled, they become encouraged to do even more.
More Than Just A Game Or Pastime
This
principle works its way from the most intimate of relationships to
world affairs. While we cannot put the whole world together, we can
put our part of it together. Hopefully, when another person sees the
order and beauty of a life ruled by Christ, they will repent of their
sins, which cause chaos in their own life.
