7/12/09 NO, NOT ONE

JULY 12, 2009
Reflecting on a short period of my ministry journey, I mused,

Did you hear the one about the State officials who oppressed a Christian church ministry, that was offering free Christian education in a racially changing community. Unhappy with our little church, a popular government representative, who claimed to be a Bible believer, told our ministry, “why don't you just leave the State.” Local government shut off utilities to our building and police planned a raid of our church, which was meeting illegally, though openly. The government threatened to arrest our worshipers and to take the children away from their parents. Our church continued to meet in the face of such dire threats.

Not one single ministry, local or national, stood with our little church. An internationally known Bible Teacher and Conference Speaker told me that we were Biblical in our position, but due to extreme failing health he was not able to stand with us. Other nationally known and respected leaders wished us well, since they agreed with our stand for faith and freedom, but they refused to stand with us. One of these national leaders was making a bid for the US Presidency and others were addressing the US congress in behalf of one of the world's most notorious cult leaders. Eventually our church, having no one who would stand with us, and having tried every known option, finally left the State.

Today there is a Nation of Islam Center in the same building that was not allowed to be used by a Bible believing, Christ centered Christian church.

God allows people to have what they want, even if it kills them.

Launch Out and Hold Fast,
