7/22/09 LIVING FAITH ESSENTIAL

JULY 22, 2009
Life Is Fluid
Life's puzzle is not a still picture, but a fluid, dynamic reality. Although God is immutable (unchangeable), He is not static. God is dynamic. Though God inhabits eternity, He interacts with His creation in the now, the present moment. Just as God is active in His relationship with mankind, He enables and requires humans to have a vital and current relationship with Him.

Saved By Living Faith
Our relationship with God is based on a living and active faith, enabled by the grace of God (Ep. 2:8-9). A static, passive dependence on yesterday's choices is not sufficient for today's problems. In fact, if we choose to turn from God, after having chosen God, we will lose a right relationship with God and will incur the judgment of God instead (Ek. 18:24-26). Though God never changes, life is a parade of changes and we must have a faith that is living rather than dead. Throughout the New Testament we are told that the people who are SAVED are the ones who BELIEVE. That is, they currently believe, they are BELIEVING. Yesterday's faith is not sufficient unless it is Today's faith also. While our relationship with Him is dependent on His unchanging provision, He only provides it to those who are following Him through an active faith. A faith from the past that is not current is a dead faith (Ja. 2:17, 20). Faith without works is dead (Ja. 2:26). Dead faith does not save (Ja. 2:14).
