6/14/09 WHOLLY REDEEMED ENABLES HOLY SERVICE TO GOD

JUNE 14, 2009
1 Thessalonians 5:23
(23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:14
(14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Wesley correctly said
Entire Sanctification (which is heart holiness), is something
We approach gradually,
Enter into suddenly,
Grow in forever.

DLG says,
It is also like a plane (I get this from 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13).
Accelerating down the runway,
Taking off,
Maintaining course and altitude,
Until our personal flight is over.

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
(11) Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
(12) And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13) To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Let God finish what He started in you (Ph. 1:6).
To miss Entire Sanctification, as a finished work of grace subsequent to justification (which is also a finished work of grace), is like getting off of the operating table after the physician has started the operation, but leaving before the operation has been finished. The whole procedure is necessary, but the purpose of a successful operation is to restore the patient to health and productivity. Likewise, Justification and Entire Sanctification are the healing works of God, which enables us to live the life that Christ wants us to have.

Remember, we are sought to be saved, we are saved to be sanctified and we are sanctified to serve.
It really is easy to understand.

Launch Out and Hold Fast,
